Edinburgh is a Gothic fairytale city. The castle towering over the volcanic rock, the medieval Royal Mile, underground pubs with whisky and the August Festival make it one of Europe's most fascinating capitals.
Edinburgh has two souls: the medieval Old Town with its dark closes and the elegant Georgian New Town. This is where Harry Potter was born, Sherlock Holmes was created and the Fringe Festival became the world's biggest live show.
